Microblading FAQ's
How is microblading done?
Microblading is created with a manual precision tool that is made of small needles forming a "micro-blade". The microblading technique is conducted mostly in the top layer of skin and gives a more natural appearance of realistic hair strands in the brow.
How long do results last?
Typically most clients will call and schedule a color boost touch up after about a year. Clients schedule their annual touch up anywhere from 9 months to 16 months depending on a few factors that influence the visibility or retention of pigment: skin type, personal preferences and how well they are taken care of. Although there may be visible pigment after 2 + years, it doesn't mean it looks good! Never let your brows go that long without a touchup unless you plan to pay full price again.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Make sure 24 hours prior to your appointment that you refrain from alcoholic beverages, pain relievers such as: Aspirin, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, CBD oils, and fish oils. Caffeine should be avoided on the day of your procedure. You may arrive wearing your normal makeup. Please eat a meal and dress comfortably as the initial procedure will last from 2 to 3 hours. We will begin by discussing the look you would like to achieve. Then, I will design your brows, shape, measure, and remeasure until we both feel confident about the design. Once we are both in agreement, a topical numbing cream will be applied to help minimize your discomfort. After the procedure, we will discuss the healing process and review your aftercare instructions.
Is Microblading painful?
There is minimal discomfort and you may experience little to no pain at all during your procedure. The use of topical numbing agents will be used to keep your skin comfortable. After the procedure, your permanent makeup may feel tight or like a sunburn but the feeling will subside quickly.
What can I expect after my Microblading procedure?
The area may feel tender or like a sunburn, this will subside quickly. The pigment will appear very bold immediately after the procedure. The color will gradually soften as the skin heals. The area may look dry or flakey. This is fine as long as it isn’t dry to the point where a scab will form.
